Morning run at JD Park. Beautiful sunny weather and a light cool breeze. I had the whole park pretty much to myself except for a couple of city workers out working on the baseball fields. Spent most of the time pondering some of the real cool stuff I have been reading in a biography of Abraham Lincoln that I got for my birthday.

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but my legs were still a little tender from Saturdays run. It's a bit frustrating to be that slow in recovering. Maybe I need to get better with my nutrition and more consistent sleep. I think part of the problem was Saturdays run was the first time in a long time that I was on pavement (instead of the treadmill) and also fierce winds were my enemy and hedged up my way. Couldn't be that I'm getting old...

If you get in a weekly longer run like last Saturay's more consitantly, you will start recovering more quickly. Sounds like a great morning for a run.

Believe me, you are not getting old, we will have none of that on this blog. Way to hang in there. For me, the longer I run the faster I seem to recover from hard workouts. Crockett is the champion at fast recovery, but it seems to develop over time.
