My daughter has a nice 10 mile route that she has been doing on Saturday evenings for the past few months. Due to issues with my back and some laziness in training I have had to ride along with her on my bike until last night. For the first time in a long time I ran with her and it was great! I only went 3 miles and then she continued on for her ten. I have a ways to go before I'm back up to ten, but it sure felt good to be able to do this three with her.

Looking good this week, you'll be back in no time. Sounds like your daughter is quite a runner.

Awesome! I'm glad you were able to run with her.

Thanks Flat and Dale. She is a very strong runner for being only 14.

She wants to do a half marathon. DO you think she is old enough or should she wait a couple of years?

I'm not an expert, but I think it is excessive training that can wear down young kids (and old men), not the racing part of it so much. I say let her run it and see how she does.

Great job Mack! Work back slowly and you'll be back to 10 miles again before you know it.
