My legs were still a little sore this morning from my last run so I didn't dare risk an injury by going out for another run. Instead I went to the gym and did 40 min of cross training.

Intervals on the bike for 25 minutes and then intervals on the elliptical for 15.

I love that elliptical! It is the kind where you can vary your stride all the way from a stair stepping motion up to a full out sprint all while it is in motion. It cranks my heart rate up and is very kind on my legs. I just hope the fitness it develops will transfer to my runs.

It's hard to squeeze these runs in what with work and kids, and I think sometiimes it's probably a good thing to have a busy day coincide with an off day training.

Thanks for the comment on my blog the other day.

I tried the elliptical a few months ago and couldn't get the hang of it--seemed really weird. But a lot of people love 'em.
