Evening run. Same route and time as last week, just an extra mile tacked on the end. Had a barking dog dart out of a driveway right before the gillas' house. I had my pepper spray and was ready to light him up, but when I turned to face him he put his tail down and ran back home. Coward. I don't like those dog encounters, but the extra epinephrine and cortisol my adrenal glands dumped into my blood stream did make the next mile or so a little easier.

This was a very difficult run and I'm not sure why. My breathing felt labored and my legs heavy the entire run. I guess some runs just feel this way. All I can do to fight back is get better quality workouts during the week, plenty of rest and better nutrition. Losing about ten pounds would make a huge difference too.

Good running. Sounds to me like that dog has been sprayed before and knew what you were going to do.

Mack...I feel the same way about runs. My legs are always heavy and I have a hard time breathing most of the time. I agree on the diet change. That would help big time. Now if I could just stick with a healthy diet, that would be helpful.
