First day at a new gym. I'm doing a 10 day trial. Seems like a nice place.

Emberasing that I only did 2 miles but my running has been so inconsistent lately that that was all I could do. Time to get focused again!

I hope the new gym works out for you. Is it close by work so you can get in your lunch time workouts?

From Mack on Tue, May 24, 2011 at 18:15:42 from 50.39.193.169

Yeah, it's pretty close to my office. Problem is I shortened my lunch time from 90 minutes to 60 minutes for 2011. That helps us get in an extra patient every day. Makes it harder to squeeze a workout in though. I think in 2012 I'll probably go back to 90 minutes.

How about you? Are you doing any lunch time running or still mostly morning?

From Rhett on Tue, May 24, 2011 at 19:03:53 from 74.32.222.239

Most of the time it is just in the morning for me. It's the rare day I have more than 20 minutes for lunch. Seems like I go through little stretches where I have more time at lunch. Lately I haven't though.

two miles is better than nothing at all. I hope that gym works out. I once told you about this little gym near me that is open 24 hours. You need to swipe your gym card to get in and I just found out that people are always having problems getting in. When they try to contact the owner, she tells them she can't come let them in because she's too busy. I guess I won't be joining that gym.

Mack, are you still going to the new gym, or has the new gym excitement already worn off?

How's the training? Haven't heard from you for quite a while.

Hi Dale, Thanks for checking in on me. I went through a bit of a running slump for a few weeks. Now I'm back on track. Just haven't had much time to spend here on the blog. Hope all is well with you.

Just checking in on you. It's been a while. How the weather?

From Mack on Mon, Jul 25, 2011 at 18:32:44 from 50.39.193.169

Hey Dale, Thanks for checking in. My running has gotten VERY inconsistent and my weight is creeping up. I don't know if I can even run two miles. Pathetic I know but it is what it is.

But...Starting today I am throwing off the yoke of bondage that has held me down. I signed up to run the Louisville Half in November with a friend who lives back there. My training is going to be CONSISTENT and I am going to become fast, fit and strong. I'm going to get back to blogging here too.

Thanks again for checking in on me. Your occasional checks on me have kept the tiny flicker of motivation alive over the last few months.

Mack, I'm glad I could help keep you motivated, even just a little. I've been in the same boat, but mostly from injuries. I have also been struggling with motivation and my weight creeped up to 197 a month or so ago. I'm down to 186 and I hope to be down to 175 in time for the St. George Marathon. I really need to get my butt in gear once we get back from Disneyland on Aug 13th.
